Writing something for ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ is both bittersweet and exciting. As of this writing, this is the final chapter in the Milla Jovovich ‘Resident Evil’ series. There’s such a sense of finality, and it’s a little sad to see it end.
Radnor’s Review
‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ was captivating from start to finish. For those that may be seeing the film blindly and didn’t watch the previous installments, there is sufficient time for explanation starting with the original 2002 title. The visuals and special effects were some of the best in the series, and I can see why they had continued the story as they did.
One thing that I enjoyed about the last couple of films is that they added more content from the video games, without making it feel cheap or campy. One of the weapons that main character ‘Alice’ used was a tribute to The Hydra from Resident Evil 5, and it was a great little bonus to see it.
Over all, it was a fast-paced heart-pounder from start to finish, and the story spans over the last fifteen years to a complete and final conclusion. It brings you back to Raccoon City and the Hive, just as it should. Without giving any spoilers or details, I can definitely say that this film was planned in such a way that everyone watching could enjoy it, whether it was your first Resident Evil title or if you have watched everything before it and/or played through all of the games religiously.
I definitely recommend watching ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ if you are a fan of action movies, and especially if you have enjoyed the R.E. movies series.
Using my new Radnor Rating System, I personally rate this movie at 4.5/5 Beards.
