I went into ‘Before I Fall’ wondering if it would have a ‘Groundhog Day’ vibe or if they would seek to improve on that. There was definitely an ‘iffy’ feel to everything because the last thing a person wants to see is a carbon copy of an earlier film. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything about this movie that made me feel like sitting through it until the end credits. The dread was real, but I had invested too much time to abandon it. The soundtrack for the movie was odd to say the least, and there were times that I wondered why they were playing the music that they chose.
The thing about this movie was that it’s story isn’t unique or original. Without spoilers, this was about the moments before the main character. Unless you are renting this or getting it On Demand, spending more than $4 would just be a waste of money.
This is based off of a book, and you can’t really change too much of the story without ruining the basis of the plot, but this was not worth spending the time on either producing or watching.
Using my new Radnor Rating System, I personally rate this movie at 2/5 Beards.
