‘Ghost Recon Wildlands’ has definitely had it’s ups and downs, from the mess that was ‘Narco Road’ DLC to the awesomeness that is the new ‘Fallen Ghost’ DLC. Ubisoft has slowly been fixing issues since the March 7th release of the base game, from separating the different hud options that people have been asking for since day one to tweaking the AI to act and react better than the basics. The ‘Ghost Recon Wildlands’ final DLC is both difficult and more enjoyable than the original content, and this is what a lot of people are sadly going to miss out on.
GRW ‘Fallen Ghosts’ DLC Observations
From the very start of ‘Fallen Ghosts’, there is a sense of adventure that didn’t feel the same from the base game. Before, you were trying to clear each region of the person in charge while taking them down mission by mission. There were some people that you saved and extracted and some that you were told to kill. With the new DLC, there is no saving people. Instead, hunting is all that you do and it’s really what you do best.
The AI has been increased to the point that there are times that I am surprised at how different they are. It helped with the addition of four new classes:
- Armoured: These are equipped with heavy bulletproof plates, especially dangerous in close combat and can only be killed with a headshot.
- Elite Sniper: Geared up with an advanced movement detector, these Elite Snipers are able to see targets alot farther away than any sniper could in the base game, and they never miss their shots.
- Jammer: With a jamming antenna directly in their backpack, they are able to neutralize drones and interfere with all other electronic equipment. As they are mobile, it makes killing them a priority and a lot harder since they can move around the battlefield until they are caught.
- Covert Ops: Armed with a powerful crossbow and a new, prototype cloaking device that makes them almost invisible, they give a new meaning to the word “Ghost”. Killing these targets are both hard and rewarding as they can take out a team of four in a matter of seconds.
Final Word And Rating
If you’re looking for a challenge and liked the original ‘Ghost Recon Wildlands’, then ‘Fallen Ghosts’ DLC is by far the best part of the game. Alot of people have already left the game on grounds of disappointment, but this DLC has made me happy from start to almost finish. I was also glad that they raised the base max level from 30 to 35, adding some new skills to help you along the way.
I give this DLC a 4/5 Beards. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed, waiting to get the PVP they’ve promised.
